SouthIndian Chutney
Rawmango Chutney
Ingredients:
1medium Green Mango
1medium Onion
1Cup grated coconut
3Green Chillies
2Red Chillies
2Flakes Garlic
1/2tsp Sugar
saltto Taste
1tsp oil
1/2tsp mustard seeds
1/2tsp black gram dal
Stepsto follow:
Method
1.Chop mango and onion into small bits.
2.Grind mango, onion, coconut, chillies, garlic, ginger, sugar and salt withvery little water.
3.Heat oil and add mustard seeds.
4.When they sputter add black gram dal.
5.Fry till it turns brown.
6.Pour seasoning into mango chutney.
DateChutney
Ingredients:
8Dates seeds removed
4green Chillies
1tsp chopped coriander leaves
1pinch asafoetida
1tsp tamarind pulp
1tsp salt
1tsp oil
1/2tsp mustard seeds
Stepsto follow:
1.Grindall the ingredients except oil and mustard seeds with little water.
2.Heat oil and add mustard seeds.
3.When they sputter, remove from heat.
4.Pour over chutney and mix well.
