Adai

Ingredients
  • Rice - 4 cups
  • Tuvar Dhal - 1 cup
  • Red Chillies - five to six (or as desired)
  • Jeera - 2 tea spoons
  • Curry leaves - a few sprigs
  • Small onions - half a cup (if you don't get small onions in your geographical location, you may use one big white/red onion cut into small pieces).
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt

Method

1.Soak rice and tuval dhal together in a container for 3-4 hours (or over-night if preparing adai for breakfast next morning).
2. Grind rice and tuval dhal coarsely in a blender/mixie.
3. Add Items 3 - 6 into the ground mixture and grind for a minute.
4. After removing the batter from the blender, add finely chopped coriander leaves and salt. Mix well.
4. Heat tava or dosa griddle and start making adai immediately (not necessary to allow dough to ferment).

Make coconut chutney to go with this! Enjoy!
