| Ingredients
Condensed milk 1/2 tin.
Butter 80 gms.
Dates 250 gms.
Maida (plain flour) 85 gms.
Walnuts 1/2 cup.
Vanilla Essence 1/2 tsp.
Soda bi-carbonate 1/2 tsp.
Baking Powder 1 tsp.
For the custard sauce
Milk 2 1/2 cups.
Sugar 3 tbsp.
Custard Powder 1 heaped tbsp. |
DATES DATES AND WALNUT DESSERT
Method
1. Remove the seeds from dates and chop them.
2. Soak in 5 tbsp of water with 1/2 tsp of soda for 4-5 hours or overnight.
3. Sift maida with baking powder, add dates and walnuts to the maida.
Mix well.
4. Beat condensed milk and butter well, in a clean pan.
5. Add the maida mixture to the condensed milk mixture, add the essence
and beat well.
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 150 degrees C for 50 minutes. Keep aside.
7. Prepare custard sauce by dissolving custard powder in 1/2 cup milk.
8. Heat the remaining 2 cups of milk with sugar. When it boils, add
the custard powder, stirring continuously.
9. Cook for a few minutes till it coats the back of the spoon.
10. Serve the pudding with hot custard sauce.
