Stanes
Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore was
founded in the year 1862 by Sir Robert Stanes
and is an educational institution with an
illustrious past. Originally known as Stanes
European High School, it was established
with the aim of providing a high standard
of education to the children of all englishmen
who were in India at that time.
Subsequently,
under the concept of liberal education,
the School was thrown open to all, irrespective
of their caste or creed, and renamed as
Stanes High School. Ever since the addition
of the Higher Secondary Section, it came
to be known as Stanes Higher Secondary School.
This school has seen tens of thousands of
students pass through its portals and become
successful and self-sufficient, first as
Human Beings and then as professionals in
their chosen careers.
Now running
its 140th year, this school ranks as the
best among the schools in Coimbatore, both
in the curricular as well as the extra-curricular
