SubramaniaSwamy Thirukoil - Marudamalai
|
This
temple is located at Marudamalai, 9 kms North - West of Coimbatore.
The kumbabishekam was performed in 1997. 'Pambati Sitthar Cave' is located on the slope to the south-east of the temple. It is believed that a snake charmer who became a saint attained salvation by meditating 'Lord Muruga' in this this cave. A notable feature is that there is an image of a snake on the rock which was formed of its own accord and not carved. Two springs 'Marudha Thirtam' and 'Pambatti Sunai' are on the hills. A dip in them cures a number of diseases because of their medicinal properties. Dharshan
