This temple is located on Coimbatore - Pollachi road, 32 Kms from Ukkadam.

'Sullakal' was near a dense forest. The inhabitants of Sulakkal and neighbouring villages usually send their domestic animals to the forest for their feed. One villager's cow was not yeilding milk all of a sudden. On suspicion, one day he followed it to the forest. He saw his cow shedding milk on a sand-dune. When he approached his cow, it started running and got its feet hit by the sand-dune. Much to his surprise, he saw blood coming out from the sand-dune. The very day 'Goddess' appeared in his dream and asked him to raise a temple.
