This
temple is located in Avinashi taluk, 50 Kms. from Coimbatore.
'Kondamanaicker' clan lived in Mondipalayam. One of the inmates of the
village found out that his cow was shedding milk on a sand-dune. He
later found an image with a 'Chakram', 'Saligram' and 'Chikandi' inside
the sand-dune. Inspired by the divine feeling, he built up a temple
for 'Shree Venketachalapathi' here.
The uniqueness of this temple is that the Image of the Lord is flat on the four sides and conical in the center. The devotees who are not able to go to Tirupati, make their offerings here.
