Meaning of Siloam.Siloam in the Bible means "sent" - John 9:7.  Jesus healed a man born blind by spitting on the ground and applying the clay made out of it on the man's eyes and asking him to wash in the pool of siloam.  The blind man went, washed and came back seeing.  We are similarly "sent" by Him to obey His commandment of serving the poor and the blind.
